Today possibly my favorite professor from Fairfield, or maybe even favorite teacher ever (which is saying a lot because I’ve had some great ones) passed away. It is really terrible; I’m not sure of his age, but he certainly was one of the younger members of the Politics Department. It actually chokes me up writing this. He was such a refreshing and brilliant professor. It’s like I feel the world really lost someone that we can’t afford to lose today. I’m just selfishly glad I was able to sit in his classroom and be enlightened by him.
P.S. - Favorite Orman Story - Before each test he would divide the class into groups and he would quiz us on the material for the upcoming exam. At the end of the quiz game each group was allowed to ask him ANY question from the textbook for bonus points even if it was an almost impossible question to answer. Seems easy enough right? It was my job in the group to stump him. So I randomly flip open to a page and there’s a timeline and one of the events is when the internet was created. I figured even he wouldn’t know this. WRONG. Nailed it right away and made me look like a fool. Pure genius. RIP John
